Venus Faye Vincent, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Nova Health Care surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 14, 1942, in Duffield, Virginia, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, faithful service to her community, and a steady, caring presence to those who knew and loved her.
Venus retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 20 years of service to her community. Through her years of work, she was part of the everyday fabric of the lives around her, offering dependability and dedication in a role that connected her with so many. She also attended Grit Hill Community Church and Sloantown Community Church, where her faith was part of the foundation of her life.
More than anything, Venus will be remembered for the love she gave to her family. She is survived by her sister, Willma Jo Jolly; her sons, Kevin Vincent and his wife, Deana, and Eric Vincent and his wife, Rebecca; her daughter, Pam Page and her husband, Randall; and her daughter-in-law, Abby Vincent. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom carry forward her memory with love. She was also blessed with the friendship of Doris Begley and Ada Darnell, two special friends who held an important place in her life.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, James and Cosby Barnette; by her son, Chris Vincent; by her granddaughter, Destiny Lynn Vincent; and by six brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Monday, August 31, 2026 at Thomas Village Baptist Church, 879 Duff-Pat Hwy, Duffield, VA. Services will be held at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jackie Frazier officiating. Music will be provided by Pine Grove Singers.
Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery, Duffield, VA.
Pallbearers will be family. Charlie Taylor will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by visiting their website www.stjude.org. or a charitable organization of your choice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amia Morris and the nursing staff at Nova Health and Rehab.
Venus leaves behind a legacy of family, faith, hard work, and quiet strength. Her life touched many, and her memory will remain a comfort to those who knew her and were grateful for her love. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
