Stanford Blaine Presley, 89, a kind and loving soul, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born in Scott County, VA, on October 3, 1936, Stanford devoted his life to his family and community portraying values of dedication and care he held dear. As a US Army Veteran, Stanford served his country with honor before transitioning to a successful career as a machine operator at Kingsport Press, from which retired. He was a member of Pendleton's Freewill Baptist Church. His strong work ethic and commitment were evident in every aspect of his life. Beyond his professional endeavors, Stanford found joy in farming, where he cultivated not only the earth but also treasured memories with those he loved.
Stanford's personal life profoundly enriched by his relationship with his loving wife, Lakie Mae (Nickels) Presley. Together, they shared enduring bond that spanned 64 years, filled with love, laughter, and countless beautiful moments He is also survived by his boys: Libby, John, Johnathan, John Douglas, Allison, and Jamie. Additionally, he leaves behind his devoted sisters, Joan Austin, Charlotte (Denny) Price, and Bronya (Eric) Rhymer, as well as his brothers, Doug (Tommie) Presley and CH (Jane) Presley; his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Presley, along with several cherished nieces and nephews who were touched by his kindness.
Stanford was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Presley, Sr and Genevieve Evelyn (Day) Presley, as well as sisters, June Presley and Doris Johnson. His brother, William Paul Presley, Sr., nephews, William Paul Presley, Jr. and Abraham Price; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Etta and George Nickels, with sisters-in-law, Bonnie Reece and Gladys Lane, and brothers-in-law, James Nickels, Jack Nickels, and Bill Nickels.
In honor of Stanford’s life, visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 pm Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Pendleton's Freewill Baptist Church, 7591 Rye Cove Memorial Rd, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Services will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Kevin Sanders officiating. Music will be provided by the church singers. Burial will follow in the Presley Family Cemetery (On the family farm) in Gate City, VA with military honors being provided by American Legion Hammond Post 3 and Post 265.
Pallbearers will be his Nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Pendleton's Freewill Baptist Church.
Stanford Presley will be remembered with love and, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit shall remain in the hearts of family and friends.
