Sherry Ann Perry went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Johnson City Medical Center due to complications from heart surgery.
Sherry was born on March 12, 1968 in Bristol, TN. She accepted Jesus at age 16. She attended Johnson County High School and graduated from Virginia High School in 1987 and married her husband, Robbie on June 19, 1987. Robbie and Sherry were married for over 38 years. Together, they had one daughter, Rindi.
She graduated from Mountain Empire Community College in 2003 with an Associates Degree in Nursing. She became a home health nurse, working all over Southwest Virginia for 8 years before becoming disabled. She loved taking care of her patients and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson Zayne.
Sherry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gate City where she served in the nursery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Linda Hawkins and Jimmy Wilson; her father-in-law, Robert J. “Bob” Perry; grandparents-in-law, Earnest V. and Almeda Sampson; special aunt, Helen Johnson; special aunt and uncle, Lucy and Fleet Garland.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Robbie; her daughter, Rindi and husband Corey Sanchez; her grandson, Zayne and soon to be granddaughter, Amaera; mother-in-law, Frances Perry; sister-in-law, Kim Jenkins and husband Stan; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will celebrate Sherry's life from 2 to 4 pm Sunday, December 14, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Gate City, 307 E. Jackson St., Gate City, VA.
