Gate City, VA - Raymond Eugene Lawson, Jr., 83, died on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Johnson City Medical Center.

He was born on September 26, 1942 in Kingsport, TN. Raymond retired from Eastern Airlines. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Eugene Lawson, Sr and Willie Mae (Sturgill) Lawson; brother, Ronnie Lawson.

Surviving are his daughter, Kay Lawson; sister, Glenda Blanton; brother, Kent Lawson.

In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and buried in the family cemetery.
