Patsy Irene Jones

Patsy Irene Bralley Jones, 83, of Hiltons, VA, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief battle with leukemia.

Born December 29, 1942 to the late Joe and Evelyn Bralley, Pat was raised in the Hiltons Community. She graduated from Gate City High School and King College in Bristol, VA.

Pat taught 1st grade early in her career with many of her former students remembering her as "the best teacher I ever had".  Pat married Bill Jones in 1964 and together they purchased Enterprise Nursery. They also grew plants and produce on their farm. Pat also worked at Eastman and Holston Defense. 

Pat was a woman of faith who has influenced many lives to know Jesus. She attended Hiltons United Methodist Church most of her life. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Jones; her parents, Joe and Evelyn Bralley; her sister, Sandra Miller.

Pat is survived by her children, Lori Jones, Hiltons, VA and Payne Jones (wife Kristie) also of Hiltons, VA; four grandchildren in whom she delighted: Jamie Mullins (husband Chris), Cole Jones, Cash Jones, and Claire Jones; and loving sister, Kay (Diddle) Bralley Wade; brother-in-law, Harold Jones.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Hiltons United Methodist Church, 2869 Hilton Rd, Gate City, VA.  Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, May 8, 2026 at the church with Pastor Will Shewey and Pastor Corey Miller officiating. Music will be provided by Oscar Harris.

Pat will be laid to rest following the service next to her husband Bill in the family cemetery on their farm.

Pallbearers will be Cole Jones, Cash Jones, Ricky McMurray, Bill Peters, Larry Bowen, David Kilgore and Andy Kerney.
