Larry Dale Norrod

Larry Dale Norrod, 73, of Kingsport, TN, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 22, 1952, in Kingsport, TN.

Larry will be remembered as a devoted family man and a man of steady faith and strong interests. He retired from Palace Vending, and he also served his country with honor as a United States Navy veteran stationed on the USS John F. Kennedy. An ordained deacon of the Baptist faith, he carried his beliefs into the way he lived and cared for those around him. He was also known for the enjoyment he found in his hobbies as a gun collector and car enthusiast.

Above all, Larry treasured his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Stella Elizabeth Norrod. He also leaves behind his daughter, Diana Ferrell, and her husband, Shane; his son, Michael Norrod, and his wife, Brenda; and his beloved grandchildren, Zachary Ferrell, Karis Ferrell, Bailee Hale, Payton Norrod, Eli Conley, and Reagan Norrod. He is also survived by his sisters, Karen Clark and Debbie Phipps, and Debbie’s husband, Curtis; his brother, David Norrod, and his wife, Dorothy; and his sister-in-law, Marcella Norrod. Each of them shared an important place in his life and will carry his memory forward with love.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Norrod Stepp; his father, Paul Norrod; his first wife, Brenda Arnett; and his brother, Danny Norrod.

Military graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. with American Legion Hammond Post #3 of Kingsport and Post #265 of Gate City providing the honors. Jon Shell will be playing Amazing Grace on his bagpipe. Pastor David Hodges will officiate. Friends are welcome to gather at 12:50 pm at the cemetery for the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
