Lana Faye (McCloud) Venable

Lana Faye (McCloud) Venable, 78, of Weber City, VA, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, June 30th, 2026. 

Lana, a daughter of the late Abner Mack McCloud and Nealie (Gibson) McCloud, was born on October 16th, 1947, in Drift, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Venable and several siblings (Bernice, Betty, Ella Lee (Dee), Malcolm, Phillip, Stanley, and Kay). Lana was a graduate of McDowell High School (KY) and cosmetology school in Scott County, Va. It is there, in Gate City, that she built, owned, and operated a salon business, Stylette Beauty Salon, for sixty years. She loved her profession, and her customers were like family to her. She was happiest with her family or in her salon.

She is survived by her children- daughter, Rebecca (Venable) Angell and husband Max; son, Justin Venable and wife Tori; grandchildren Theo Angell, Piper Angell, Waylon Venable, and Ruston Venable, sister Anna Jo Bowen; several nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Lana will be greatly missed for her warm, welcoming demeanor, encouraging words to those around her, and her unwavering and passionate love for her family.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Monday, July 6, 2026, at Gate City United Methodist Church. Services will follow at 1:00 pm with her daughter Rebecca giving the eulogy and Pastor Jon Reed officiating. Interment will be in Holston View Cemetery.
