Karen Renee Blessing

Karen Renee Blessing passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 in Kingsport, Tennessee after an ongoing battle with liver failure. Karen was born on December 18th, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland. Originally from the Coeburn area of Virginia, her family moved back to southwest Virginia to the Yuma community of Scott County when she was very young, where she would eventually meet her husband, marry, raise babies, and reside the remainder of her life on the south side of Clinch Mountain. Karen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Danny and Joann Lundy as well as her brother, Michael Lundy and sister, Joyce Goad. Survivors include her devoted husband, Roy Allen Blessing. Daughters: Maggie Demory (Eddie), Rachel Blessing, and Ashley Blessing. Grandchildren: Austin Demory, Pacy Gilliam (Santanna), Gracie Gilliam, Lundy Addington, Millie May, and Kate Blessing, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Eddie Demory, Pacy Gilliam, Austin Demory, Logan Vermillion, Brandon Blessing, Matthew Housewright
Honorary Pallbearers: Deetsie Vermillion, Lucas Vermillion and Mike Jennings.

Visiting hours will be from 4:00 to 6:00PM on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Catron's Chapel Church, 9387 Yuma Rd. Gate City, Virginia. Funeral services will begin at 6p on Monday, directed by Fischer Funeral Services and officiated by preacher Larry Tolley. Music will be provided by Andy and Aaron Tate, and Michelle Stapleton and her sisters. 

Graveside services will be at 1:00PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Blessing Cemetery in Yuma, Virginia. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 12:50 pm at the cemetery for the graveside service.
