Jo-rita Gragg

Jo-rita Gragg ,67, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on March 14.

Jo-rita Gragg was born April 9, 1958 of the late Harrison "Red" and Virginia Taylor. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Gene Taylor, sister Delores Vicars, sister in law Kay Taylor, mother-in-law Clara Lee Gragg and father-in-law George Rufus Gragg.

Jo was a member of Port City Church in Kingsport. She enjoyed watching The Chosen and giving everyone she met a little Jesus that she would buy in bulk from Amazon. Jo served as an Ambassador for CASA for Kids for many years helping promote the CASA mission. She loved her community and was on the board for Sullivan Recreation Association for more than 20 years. She coached softball for several years and then enjoyed working the concession stand. Her favorite thing was traveling to watch her kids and grand kids play ball.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of more than 50 years, Mike Gragg, daughter Missy Sturgill and husband Danny, sons Lucas Gragg and wife Tonya, and Devin Taylor; grandchildren Taylor TAS Sturgill, Sydnee and Harper Gragg; brothers in law Bud Gragg and wife Jan, Joe Gragg and wife Chavela ;special nieces Sandy Williams and Carol Boyd; neighbors Donna Bardsley and Grace; Class of 76 DB classmates, church family, and adopted family from SRA.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at The City Church, 2601 E. Center St., Kingsport, TN. Services will be held at 7:00 pm with Pastors Jamie Mauk, Chris Alford, Toby Steffey officiating. The eulogy will be given by Angie Stanley. Special music will be provided Justin Mychals (Michael Tate) and Kristina Alford.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Poplar Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 768 Poplar Grove Rd, Kingsport, TN. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 9:50 am at the cemetery for the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be Danny Sturgill, TAS Sturgill, Devin Taylor, Michael Morelock, Michael "Bubba" Morelock, and Luke Gragg.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tanner Light, Bert Mitchell, Wendell Porter, and Andy Taylor.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hannah and the Gentiva Hospice nurses.
