Jo Ann Bays Starnes

Jo Ann Bays Starnes, 90, went to her heavenly home on December 1, 2025, that she prayed for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Starnes and her brothers and sisters.

Jo Ann is survived by one brother, Donald R. Bays and wife Peggy Gardner Bays and many nieces and nephews. She was the eleventh child of Flanders M. Bays, Sr. and Etta Kate Barker Bays.

Funeral graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Mt. Vernon Community Church Cemetery, Hiltons, VA with family and friends attending. Rev. Bobby Hobbs will officiate. Music will be provided by the Bays Family.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at 1:15 pm at Fischer Funeral Services, 120 AP Carter Hwy, Hiltons, VA to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Nova Health and Rehab for their loving care of Jo Ann during her time with them.
