Jason Michael Cleek, born on October 7, 1972, in Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, January 23, 2026 surrounded by his family. A cherished member of the Gate City community, Jason dedicated himself to his role as the Manager of Broadwater Trading Company, where his leadership and hardworking nature left a lasting impact on both his colleagues and clients.
A proud graduate of Gate City High School, Jason was known not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his deep passion for farming, a hobby that brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He cultivated not just crops on his land but strong relationships within his community, sharing his knowledge and love of agriculture with others.
Jason is survived by his beloved partner, Cindy Harrison, and his three children, Jessee Harrison, Madison Harrison, and Kayla Cleek. He is also fondly remembered by his father, Gary Wayne Cleek, and his mother, Kay Scott Cleek. His family includes his sister, Kelly Shepard, and her husband Doug, along with his niece, Shauna Chapman, and her husband, Luke, and his nephew, Ryan Shepard. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will continue to honor his memory.
Jason had a close circle of special friends who supported him on the farm, including Colton McMurray, Walker McMurray, Eli Hicks, and Luke McConnell. Their companionship and shared experiences were a testament to the values of friendship and camaraderie that Jason held dear.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Lucille Scott, and paternal grandparents, Tommy and Marie Cleek, who undoubtedly influenced his values and shaped the man he became.
A visitation in memory of Jason will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Heritage Baptist Church, located at 5102 Bristol Hwy in Gate City, Virginia. The celebration of his life will follow at 6:00 PM with Pastor Preston Harper officiating. Music will be provided by the church singers.
Jason Michael Cleek will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy will endure in the hearts of countless individuals whose lives he touched.
