She was born in Gate City, VA, a daughter of the late Ward Henry McMurray and Rose Mary (Draughn) McMurray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 6 sisters and 2 brothers. She attended First Apostolic Christian Church in Kingsport, TN.
Surviving are her husband, Billy Lee Smith; sisters, Peggy Ball and Rosalee Ervin; brothers, Ron McMurray and Jackie McMurray; several nieces and nephews.
