Hazel Marie McMurray Wilson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Hazel Marie McMurray Wilson on June 11, 2026 at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. 

She was a woman of boundless love and compassion for her children and grandchildren. Through her journey of 92 years, she touched many lives with her wisdom and humor. Hazel had an unwavering spirit of perseverance. She took pleasure in the little things and didn't ask for much. Hazel will be remembered for her warmth, quiet strength and devotion to her family. Her memory will live on through the love she gave so freely. She was greatly loved by everyone and will be missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind 5 daughters, Cathy (Gary Baker), Donna (Scott McCauley), Debra (Gerry Wilson), Denise (John DeWeese), and Sherry (Jimmy Winston), 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Peggy Hughes, Faye Sturgill and Patsy Laughlin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Warren Wilson; son, Kelvin Warren Wilson; grandson, Gary Pearson Baker; grandson, Jason Paul Shudell; parents, Sylvester Glenn McMurray and Ruth Marie McMurray; 2 sisters and 6 brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 13, 2026 at McMurray Cemetery in Hiltons, VA on New Hurland Church Lane with Brother Rex McMurray officiating. Music will be provided by Eric and Luanne McMurray. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 10:50 am at the cemetery for the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Great Grandsons.
