Glen Hartsock

With profound respect and deep sorrow, the family of Glen Hartsock announces his peaceful passing at his home on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on December 3, 1943, Glen’s life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family, his faith, and his community, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Glen was the proud owner and operator of Dry Branch Water Company, where his steadfast work ethic and commitment to service were widely recognized. His diligence in business was matched only by his kindness and integrity, traits that defined every aspect of his life.

A devoted member of Hillcrest Bible Mission Church in Kingsport, Tennessee, Glen's deep faith was apparent to all who had the honor of knowing him. The impact of his spiritual life could be seen not only in his active involvement in his church community, but also in the way he conducted himself each day. It has often been said that Glen preached his own funeral by the life he lived. Ever generous and compassionate, he helped many people over the years, building connections grounded in love and understanding. Glen was truly loved by all and will be deeply missed.

Glen’s life was enriched by his loving family. He is survived by his sons Randy (Lora) Hartsock and Jeff (Marie) Hartsock; grandchildren Kirsten Hammonds, Kala Dean, Keisha McConnell, and Christopher Starnes; great-grandchildren Lindsey Hammonds, Mason Dean, Braden Dean, Colton Hammonds, and Kamryn Dean; brother Sammy (Ina) Hartsock; and a host of nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl L. Hartsock; father H. Beech Hartsock; mother Cora L. (Thompson) Hartsock; sisters Juanita and Reba; and brothers Don, Jack, Bill, and Robert.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service honoring Glen’s life, to be held at Vermillion Cemetery, 5269 AP Carter Hwy, Hiltons, VA 24258, on Sunday, August 2, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM. with Pastor David Castle and Hunter Stapleton officiating. Music will be provided by Marie Hartsock and Karen Vermillion. Friends are welcome to gather at 1:45 pm at the cemetery for the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Bible Mission Church, 3822 Bonita St, Kingsport, TN 37664.
