Frankie Blalock Smith, born October 12, 1944, passed away peacefully at her home on August 16, 2026. Frankie's warmth, compassion, and steadfast devotion to those she loved defined her throughout a life beautifully lived.
Frankie spent over thirty years as a dedicated employee of JC Penney, where her unwavering commitment and caring spirit touched the lives of countless customers and colleagues. Her pride in her work was evident, and her contributions to the community will be fondly remembered by many.
At the heart of everything, though, was Frankie's family. She was the cherished wife of Wayne Smith and loving mother to Michelle Smith McDonald, Kenneth (Monica) Smith, and Matthew (Julie) Smith. She shared a special bond with her sister Robin (Dwayne) Hall and her brother Jim (Marjorie) Blalock, always nurturing the close-knit ties that made family gatherings occasions brimming with laughter, love, and treasured memories.
Frankie’s legacy truly sparkled through her grandchildren, who were undeniably the light of her life: Wayne (Eric) Smith, III, Ryan (Lindsey) smith, Kodee (Alexis) Poore, Garrett (Sarah) Collier, Jessica (Logan) Duke, Jacob (Sarah) Collier, Sydney (Andrew) Mays, Aaron (Kristen) Collier, and Raychel McDonald. Frankie also delighted in her twelve great-grandchildren as well as several adoring nieces and nephews. She loved her precious fur babies that brought her alot of joy everyday. As "Nana," she embraced every milestone, big or small, with genuine pride, boundless affection, and an enthusiasm that became legendary in the family. Her home overflowed with the warmth only a beloved matriarch could provide—a true safe haven for those she held dear.
Frankie’s spirit was uplifted by her faith as a dedicated member of Hiltons Memorial United Methodist Church. Within its congregation, she found comfort, camaraderie, and a community with which to share life’s beautiful journey.
She is now reunited with her parents, Lucian D. Blalock and Pauline Blalock, whose memory she always cherished.
