Evelyn Marie McConnell

Evelyn was born June 28, 1933 to the late Glover Johnson and Lillian Marie Davis. She was a 1950 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School.

She married her high school sweetheart Edgar Pete McConnell August 2, 1953 and was married 50 years before his passing in 2003.

Evelyn owned a catering business in Kingsport for 48 years before her retirement at the age of 85. Her joy in life besides her family and cooking was to make a lasting impact in every person she met letting them know how special and loved they were. She will be greatly missed by many.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jeff McConnell (Jane), Bobby McConnell (Cay), and Kristi Wells (Shane)

Her grandchildren: Marie Darnell(Michael),Niki Smith (Chris),Rusty McConnell (Sahira), Brittany McConnell, Kaley Wallace (Zack), Janzen, Lailah and Maison Wells

Her Great Grandchildren: Jonathan Summey, Victoria Kimberlin, Damon Kindle, Alyssa, Bella and Lucas Smith, Arielle McConnell, Boone and Monroe Wallace Great Great Grandchildren: Emma Jo and Kole Kimberlin

A Celebration of Evelyn's life will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2 pm at St. Luke UMC, 2600 East Center St, Kingsport, TN.

The family would like to give thanks to all her beautiful friends and a special thanks to the Britt, Burton and Earles families for loving Ms Evelyn thru the years.
