Eulola Joan "Poochie" Light

Eulola Joan "Poochie" Light went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Born January 13, 1956, in Scott County, Va., she was the daughter of Amos Barnette and Thymutas Kathleen Barnette. 

Poochie was saved on November 10, 2008. She attended Freedom Independent Missionary Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce Mullins and Helen Sensabaugh, and her brothers, Elmo Barnette, Jack Barnette, Joe Barnette and Danny Barnette.

Surviving are her husband of over 43 years, Carl Light Jr.; brothers Lonnie Barnette and wife Debbie and Roger Barnette; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Freedom Independent Missionary Baptist Church, 1536 Independence Ave., Mount Carmel, Tenn. Services will be held at 3 p.m. at the church with Pastor Troy Dailey officiating. Music will be provided by the church choir.

Interment will follow the service in Church Hill Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Poochie was a loving wife, sister and friend and she made a big impact on everybody and will be deeply missed.
