David Gene Fleenor

David Gene Fleenor, 69, of Piney Flats, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, February 9, 2026.

David was born in Gary, IN was a very outdoors man, loved da Bears and had the gift of talking to everyone we called it "fisherman's talk" and always brought vibrant discussions to all the he came across. His laughter was infectious and made all feel welcome. His faith in God made an impact on every person he met.

David is survived by his daughter Amanda Jo Anne Hansen (James Hansen); his son's Bruce David Fleenor (Shonna Fleenor) Joshua James Fleenor (Kristen Fleenor) and Michael Lawrence Fleenor (Tiffany Fleenor) and David's 9 grandchildren Bruce II, Dayton, Emma, Trace, Zane, Braeden, Mason, Wyatt, and Nya, his 4 sisters Sherry, Patsy, Linda, and Wanda; brother Steven and much, much more family. David was proceeded in God's grace by his parents Kanner and Barbara Fleenor and 2 sisters Lonny and Beverly.

Celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Willow Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, 802 West Carters Valley Rd, Kingsport, TN. with Elder Scott Tipton officiating.  Military honors will be provided by American Legion Hammond Post 3/265.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David’s memory may be made to the Bristol Seventh-day Adventists Church 571 TN-126, Bristol, TN 37620 or to the family.
