Cynthia Yvonne Hill, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 20, 2026, in Kingsport, TN. Born on November 10, 1958, to the late James Elmer Barnette, Jr. and Barbra Jean (Peters) Barnette, Cynthia graced the world with her warmth and kindness that touched the lives of many.

Incredibly devoted to those she loved, Cynthia had an uncanny ability to remember every birthday, anniversary, and special occasion, always putting others first. Her loving husband of 13 years, Tim Hill, stood by her side through life’s many seasons. Their bond was a testament to the beauty of companionship and love, radiating warmth to all who witnessed it.

Cynthia took immense pride in her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she delightedfully referred to as her proudest accomplishments. She is survived by her son, Andrew "Andy" Sloan and wife Holly, who together blessed her with grandchildren Caden, Carah, Carson, Elizabeth, and Clayton. Her daughter, Leah White, along with her fiancé Donnie, shared with her the joy of her grandchildren, Emily and Kaleigh Clark. They, alongside her sister Rebekah Sharon Barnette; stepson, Timothy Hill and Malinda; step grandson, Declan Hill and several nieces and nephews, will forever treasure the memories made with this remarkable woman.

A graduate of Gate City High School Class of 1977, she had various part time positions over her career where she found joy in creating connections with others, a quality that transcended into her personal life as well. Her heart was a tapestry woven with love, showcased particularly by her cherished tradition of sending encouraging scriptures to family and friends in need, serving as a pillar of strength and comfort in difficult times.

Cynthia had a zest for life reflected in her hobbies and interests, from growing vibrant flowers to delighting in making candy and nurturing her beloved cats. Each passion she pursued was infused with her vibrant spirit and compassionate heart. She loved serving the community through her church Midfield Freewill Baptist where she was a member, taught Sunday School and shared her blessings with everyone.

Cynthia was predeceased by her sister, Mary Cassandra Begley, whose memory she carried with love in her heart.

A visitation will be held in celebration of her life on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Midfield Freewill Baptist Church, 1801 Grandby Rd, Kingsport, TN, starting at 5:00 PM, followed by a heartfelt Celebration of Life beginning at 6:00 PM. with her son, Andrew Sloan and Pastor Dewayne Green.

Cynthia Yvonne Hill’s legacy is one of compassion, love, and unwavering support for those she cherished. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of every life she touched.
