Clara Myrl Phillips

Clara Myrl Phillips, 91, of Kingsport, Tennessee, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who will forever treasure her love.

Clara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Fred Phillips; her son, Sam Phillips; her daughter, Sandy Darter; her parents, Lawrence Leonard Smith and Clara Vonnie Smith; six sisters; and three brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Gary (Diane) Phillips; her daughters, Angie (Mike) Taylor, Becky (Craig) Quillen, and Lisa (David) Fincannon; her daughter-in-law, Delores Phillips; her son-in-law, Doug Darter; Eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and two brothers, Bill Smith and Johnny Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, Virginia, with Pastor Walter Wagner officiating. Music will be provided by Kay Elliott. Pallbearers will be Mike Taylor, Nathan Phillips, Jason Phillips, Colton Davidson, Rusty Davidson, and Zeke Newton.

Family and friends wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Holston View Cemetery at 12:50 p.m.
