Bobby Ray Burke

**In Loving Memory of Bobby R. Burke**

Bobby R. Burke, age 78, of Gate City, VA, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at his home.

Born on January 17, 1947, in Kingsport, TN, Bobby was the cherished son of the late James C. Burke and Anna Lee (Wolfe) Burke. He was preceded in death by his beloved in-laws, Dorothy and Cecil Tipton.

A dedicated member of Gateway Baptist Church, Bobby exemplified faith and service throughout his life. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as a chemical operator at Eastman Chemical Company, where he worked for 33 years before retiring in 1999. Bobby also served his country with honor for 30 years in the Virginia Army National Guard, with the 1033rd Engineer Company and the 1032nd Transportation Company in Gate City, VA.

Bobby is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 58 years, Kathy Burke; his daughter, Kristi Burke; his son, Brian Burke; his grandchildren, Jakob Roper, Cecilia Roper, Keeley Burke, and Tipton Burke; along with his sisters, Phyllis Begley (and husband Mack) and Melinda Combs; brothers, James "Denny" Burke and Keith Burke; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will announce a Celebration of Life service to honor Bobby's legacy at a later date. His love, kindness, and strength will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
