Billy Ray Davidson, 92, of Duffield, VA, a devoted family man, respected veteran, and dedicated maintenance supervisor, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tennessee. Born on September 8, 1933, in Scott County, Virginia, Billy embraced a life marked by commitment to his family, his faith, and his community.

A veteran of the United States Army, Billy exemplified service and dedication throughout his life. Following his military service, he devoted many years to the Scott County School System, retiring as a maintenance supervisor. His steadfast work ethic and reliability earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and community members alike.

Deeply rooted in his Baptist faith, Billy found comfort and strength in his spiritual beliefs. He was a man who cherished simple pleasures and took delight in gardening, hunting, and spending time with his beloved dogs, Archie and Lulu. These hobbies reflected his connection to nature and his gentle, nurturing spirit.

Billy's greatest pride and joy were his family and friends. He was a loving husband to Allie Horton Davidson, whose partnership stood as a testament to enduring love and devotion. His daughter, Kathy Givens, and grandson, Joshua Givens, remember him as a source of unwavering support and guidance. He also held a special place in his heart for his nieces, Brenda Peters and Renee Coe, and his nephews, Dennis Horton, Ronnie Adams, Jimmy Davidson, and Steven Davidson. Among his cherished companions were special friends Jamie and Trey Lawson, whose friendship brought warmth and camaraderie to his later years.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Lloyd Davidson and Lizzie Taylor Davidson, as well as his sister, Virginia Horton, and brother, Paul Davidson. He carried their memory with him throughout his life, grounding his identity in the bonds of family heritage.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA with Rev. Scotty Moore officiating. Music will be provided by Christie Green Lawson. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 3:15 pm at the cemetery for the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be William Edwards, James Miller, Dennis Horton, Jason Horton, Travis Peters and Nathanial Horton.
