Billy Jack Anderson

Billy Jack Anderson, Bristol, VA, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Holston Valley Hospital, Kingsport TN.

Billy Jack was born April 24, 1942. He was a lifelong resident of the Boozy Creek Community of Scott Co., VA, and attended Gate City High School.

On August 11, 1958 he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior in the annual revival at Gardner’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Billy Jack was a farmer, a gifted and talented harmonica player, and checkers player, as well.

His parents, the late Rhea and Roberta (Bertie) Anderson preceded him in death. In addition to his parents he was preceded by four sisters; an infant, Elsie Taylor, Mae Anderson, and Mary Evelyn McConnell; a brother Joe Anderson; brothers-in-law, Raymon Taylor and Kenneth McClain.

Survivors include a sister, Virginia McClain; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Dorothy Anderson, James Kermit and Barbara Anderson, Wayne and Donna Anderson; sister-in-law Luann Anderson; brother-in-law Charles W. (Bill) McConnell; several nieces and nephews, three of which were special caregivers, David McClain, Douglas McClain, and Michael McConnell.

Graveside service will be Monday, October 26 at 3:00 PM at the Anderson Family Cemetery, 3658 Boozy Creek Rd. Bristol VA with Brother Rex McMurray and Elder Scott Tipton officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Hughes, Stanley Shaffer, and Perry Reeves. Family and friends planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 pm.
