Auburn “Orbie” Osborne, a dedicated logger and farmer, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Dungannon, VA, on March 18, 1959, Auburn devoted his life to the work that shaped his character and community.
Orbie's unwavering commitment to his career in logging and farming was a testament to his strong work ethic and deep connection to the land. His contributions to these demanding fields left a lasting impression on those who knew him and worked alongside him.
He was a beloved husband to his wife, Patsy Osborne, who stood by his side through every chapter of his life. Orbie is survived by his daughters Christina Osborne, Sonya Ashe and her husband Brandon, Amanda Ford and her husband Marty, as well as his son Shannon Jarvis. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren Savannah Eldridge and her husband Zach, Briana Blevins, Sarah Lawson and her husband Nathanyal, Krista Jarvis, Sevan Ford, Braylon Ford, Lilah Ford, Avery Ford, Aubrey Collins, Ana Begley, and Danica Ford. The family warmly remembers his great-grandchildren Rosalie Krampota, Noland Lawson, Kylee Begley, and Sophie Begley, who carried forward his spirit.
Orbie also leaves behind treasured sisters Nina Begley, Barbara Musick, and Debbie Rogers, along with many nieces and nephews. Among them, special mention is given to his nephew Chris Osborne and great-nephews Spencer Begley and Brady Begley, who shared a particularly close bond with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Kathleen (Akers) Osborne, brothers Patrick (PJ) Osborne and Lemuel (Lem) Osborne, as well as sisters Unice Wheatly, Kitty Childress, and Bessy Greear.
A celebration of Orbie’s life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Depot,18933 Veterans Memorial Highway, Dungannon, VA. Family, friends, and all who were touched by his kindness, strength, and generosity are invited to gather and honor his memory.
Orbie's legacy as a hardworking man, devoted family member, and steadfast friend will remain indelibly etched in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was a testament to dedication, love, and resilience, leaving behind a rich heritage for generations to come.
